Quest Counter Quest Counter quests can be accepted at the, quest counter. Free Exploration Free Exploration quests are unlocked through Koffee's client orders. Arks Quests These are the default quests that can be accepted at the quest counter. Emergency Quests Emergency Quests are daily events that will show up at the quest counter for a limited time during that day. Story Quests These quests are unlocked through the Matter Board and progress the game's story.

Client Orders Client Orders are character specific quests that you can accept on both floors of the ship. Goal Goal client orders are quests that need to be completed under certain conditions, usually involving S-ranking a mission under a certain amount of time. Item Collection Collection client orders are relatively self-explanatory.

Emergency Code During certain quests, Emergency Code events, also known as "interrupts", may trigger. This can be at random or because of a quest objective, and they come in multiple variations: Emergency Code Name Timed? Objective Arrest Yes Capture a pre-determined amount of enemies within your immediate area before the timer runs out. This is almost always a situation where Nab Rappies The yellow bird-like enemies need to be killed, only they vanish instead of burrowing away into the ground.

However, showing hostility to the targeted enemy will cause them to run and escape, and escaping enemies can hurt your final rank. Attack No The most common of all EC mini-quests and involves killing a preset number of enemies within your immediate area.

If there are less enemies nearby than there are left to complete the EC, the game will immediately spawn more enemies. EC: Attack can only be failed if the player dies, as the game will usually close off the area around the player. On occasion, a rare type of Attack can appear where the player is pitted against a powerful enemy and a few less powerful enemies.

The fight will, however, play out exactly like an Emergency Code: Duel. Avoid Yes The most difficult of all ECs. An invincible enemy spawns within the area and a timer starts.

The player must avoid dying or being hit more than twice by the enemy, or else the EC is failed. It is possible to escape this Emergency Code by using a Telepipe and warping back into the area, as it nullifies the EC. It can also be nullified by moving on to the next area. Collect No A giant wall preventing progression will appear at the start of this EC. Three boxes will randomly spawn in the area in succession from each other.

When the player collects the third box, the player will then be asked to bring the items to the door. This will remove the wall and the EC will be complete. Duel No A fancy title for "boss fight". EC:D s will take place in a dedicated area although they can very rarely show up in the wild and will involve fighting a significantly more difficult enemy until it is defeated. Completing a Duel will cause the enemy to drop a large crystal containing multiple smaller drops. Destruction No A large sphere appears in a random location on the map.

This sphere must be destroyed to complete the Code, and its health meter is shown underneath the game's on-screen map. As it takes damage, it grows in size and begins to spawn more and more enemies to help protect the sphere. The EC is completed when the sphere is destroyed. Killing the enemies it spawns is optional. Elimination Yes Similar to Attack, only a time limit is added to the fight. If all enemies are not taken out at the end of the timer, the EC is failed.

Protection No The opposite of Destruction. A crashed ship appears in a random spot on the map and enemies swarm to attack it. The player must defend the ship from the enemies as the ship's crew repair it.

The ship's repair meter is displayed underneath the map. Once fully repaired, Untitled - Phantasy* - Quest - Phantasy 2 (Cassette), the ship leaves and the EC is completed. The game's successful open beta and launch, as well as excitement for a new game in the Phantasy Star series, has attracted a strong English community in the Japanese version, which attempts to congregate on Ship 02 and, more recently, Ship The sudden influx of new players, a large majority being international, had forced SEGA to temporarily close down character registration on the most popular Ships from July 8th to the 18th. Character registration is now re-open on all Ships.

Players pick a class to start as but can switch to any other class at any time. Each class starts at level 1 and levels independently. When a player switches from one class to another, the previous class' progress is maintained and can be returned to at any time. The Hunter class is the melee class, and they focus on up-close damage with swords and photon arts.

They have a higher HP count and the ability to chain attacks infinitely. PA attacks can be comboed into regular attacks, and proper timing can chain any combination of regular and PA attacks an unlimited number of times. The Ranger class is the ranged class, and they focus on long-distance damage with rifles and launchers. Rangers can use either Assault Rifles or Launchers. Assault Rifles are all three-shot burst and fire regular bullets by default.

Equipping different Photon Arts can add rocket launcher, shotgun, sniper, or magic attributes to the weapons. Launchers fire single-shot rockets, and equipping different PA change the explosive effect of the rockets such as bigger splash damage or clustered explosions.

The Force class is the casting class, focusing on magical abilities with rod weaponry. They have a higher PP count versus a lower HP count and can support a party through healing and buffing, as well as providing offensive support through certain skills.

Rather than equipping weapon-specific attacks onto rods and other Force-only weapons, the follow-up Photon Arts for Forces are spells, most of which have an elemental affinity such as fire, ice, and so on. There’s also been a fan translation patch for the Japanese version, which is also a bit of a problem. But now the Phantasy Star Online 2 English version is available for all to play, no matter your IP.
